The DSS-7142 is an all-in-one, free standing totem. It is equipped with removable wheels and a stabilizing foot for flexible placement and relocation as needed, and with WiFi-ready support, it allows for real-time network connectivity. It packs a 2.4 GHz, Intel® Core™ i5 processor for high performance computing capable of smooth delivery of even the most intense applications.

Multi-touch Interface with Built-In Camera and Speaker
DSS-7142 runs Window 7 operating system. This gives the display true multi-touch capability, allowing customers to interact with it by enlarging, shrinking or rotating the display using two fingers and dual touch points. Equipped with a built-in webcam and speaker, the system can be used as a two-way communications device, instantly boosting customer service by placing a customer agent in direct contact with customers. Marketeers can gauge the success of a campaign by using the camera and a utility application to watch the reactions of customers as they interact with the display. The camera can count people, identify gender and age, or keep track of the time people spend observing content. It is a positive benefit to digital signage markets.

Slim Design Packs a Full High Definition Punch in a Vandalproof Chassis
DSS-7142 is also slimmer than most totem displays on the market. Standing 200cm tall, the totem is a mere 86mm deep in its standard configuration. The durable, yet attractive aluminum side-frame and chassis, and the 7H tempered front glass (which is UL-1950 compliant) are designed to survive in public spaces, where accidents and vandalism can take their toll on lesser systems. With an anti-reflective treatment on the front glass, reflections from the surrounding environment are eliminated, allowing the viewer to easily view video and other content, even in high ambient light.

Reserve Area for Peripherals and External Graphics Card
Customization is easy with DSS-7142. There is a reserve area in the center of the totem designed specifically for peripheral expansion. Different devices including a thermal printer, magnetic stripe or RFID reader, or Smartcard can easily be added. This creates application possibilities for the DSS-7142 and a savvy system integrator, for example: a retailer using near field communications to tender payments via a Google Wallet-equipped mobile phone, printing tourist or schedule information from a kiosk application, hospital pre-check and admissions with positive identification, and many more. Another feature, for graphics-intense applications, DSS-7142 includes an expansion slot for an external graphics card which allows the system to take advantage of high performing GPUs. This allows for simultaneous display of multiple high definition content sources.
